Elder Care in Tallahassee FL

Hopewell invites you to join us in supporting Elder Care Services at its annual Octoberfest in the Centre of Tallahassee, on Friday September 30th.  Doors open at 6 PM for sponsors and VIP ticket Elder-Care-in-Tallahassee-FLholders and at 7 PM for general admission. This event will be the first ever fall fundraiser the newly renovated Tallahassee mall.

Oktoberfest has become one of the most popular fall celebrations and continues to increase in popularity in the US. This can be attributed to the explosion of microbreweries and replicas of famous German brew houses such as the 400-year-old Hofbräuhaus München. Hofbräuhaus franchises have opened up in many cities around the country and there are three in Florida:  Hofbräuhaus St. Petersburg, Hofbräu Beer Hall in Miami, and Hofbräuhaus Panama City. Currently there is no Hofbräuhaus in Tallahassee, but for eighteen years there has been one night every fall, where our fair city celebrates our seniors with a festival that will rival any in the world.

The staff at Elder Care Services has been hard at work since the beginning of the year planning and preparing for this event. In addition to unlimited servings of traditional German cuisine prepared by our professional Meals on Wheels chefs, there will be a large selection of German desserts, freshly baked by teachers, students, and parents of the German School of Tallahassee, a fine selection of Oktoberfest beer in our biergarten, plenty of wine for non-beer drinkers, and a compelling, innovative and unique live auction along with a fun silent auction that will pique everyone’s interest.

Attendees will be greeted by the familiar sounds of Tallahassee’s only traditional Bavarian oompah band, Gesundheit, led by Mike Grant. The six-piece ensemble will delight with authentic renditions of polkas, schottisches, laendlers, marches, waltzes, and gallops as you feast on Bratwurst and Schnitzel. So break out your lederhosen and dirndls and take this opportunity to celebrate our seniors in true German fashion.

Our final act of the evening is renowned singer, guitarist, songwriter, and recording artist Todd Plant. Todd will serve up a smorgasbord of American songbook standards and multi-platinum billboard hits, including Michael Bublé favorites and the best of Sinatra. Depending on the mood of the audience, Todd will launch into a wide variety of music that will keep everyone on their feet. From the vocal smooth jazz of George Benson, Steely Dan and Michael McDonald to high energy funk and soul of Marvin Gaye, Earth Wind & Fire and Stevie Wonder; from the classic rock and pop of Journey, the Doobie Brothers, Santana and the Police to modern hit makers like Bruno Mars, Robin Thicke and Will Pharrell. Todd promises to please everyone and we can assure you that he will!

We are convinced that this new venue, coupled with some incredible entertainment and an authentically choreographed celebration will delight those who have attended in the past and truly astound our newest attendees.
